Regulate and coordinate physical processes.
The function with the most visible technology migration. Railway signalling was mechanical lever frames; then relay interlockings; then processor-based cabinets; increasingly cloud-hosted software. The function endures; the asset that performs it evaporates into software. Failure-mode discipline must track this migration or become obsolete.
Each scope is a domain-specific tenant of the function. Content arrives per scope, versioned. The table below lists reserved scopes; reservation does not commit Kerne Systems to building content, it commits to the URL shape when content does arrive.
| Scope | Status | Path | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| rail-signalling | Reserved | /corpus/control/rail-signalling/ |
Interlockings, ETCS, train protection, traffic management. |
| plc | Reserved | /corpus/control/plc/ |
Industrial process control — DCS, PLC, SCADA. |
| grid | Reserved | /corpus/control/grid/ |
Power grid control systems, substations, SCADA. |
| space | Reserved | /corpus/control/space/ |
Spacecraft attitude control, orbital coordination, ground segment. |
